Seasonal Fruit Crumble

Serving 8-10

  • 1 kilo fruit off your choice .¬†Fruits in season : pear, apple, peaches and nectarines, plum, mango, mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries)
  • Juice of half lemon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp.cornstarch
  • For the crumble;
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • half cup brown sugar
  • half tsp.ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter,cut into cubes
  • 1 cup rolled oats (old fashion)

Procedure :

1.Butter 2 ceramics dishes ,an ovenproof glass pie or individual ramekins.

2.Wash fruits well, Remove seeds and slice fruits.Sprinkle with the lemon juice and toss together with sugar and cornstarch.

3..In another bowl make the crumble by mixing together the flour,brown sugar,and cinnamon.

4.cut in the butter and mix with your with your fingers  until they resemble coarse breadcrumbs.

5.Add rolled oats

6.Place the fruits in the dishes and top with the crumble.Bake for 40 mins at 375 f or until bubbling and golden brown.

7.Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

*you may add 1/2 of slice almonds to the crumble by processing it with the sugar and flour. Variation for Mango Crumble:Add 2 tbsp. brandy when mixing the fruit.Omit the lemon and cinnamon.
